Trombone player Mr.Nico Schippers from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra visited Best Brass in Hamamatsu.
Actually, he is one of the oldest( I mean the longest time.) brothers in the Best Brass Family, but it was the first time to visit my place.
He was on a tour called "International Trombone Ensemble (ITE)", and the concerts significantly succeeded here in Japan.
He told me that he had been surprised by the numerous numbers of Japanese female Trombone players. According to Nico, most of the trombone players in the Netherlands are men. In fact, Japanese Wind orchestra culture in high school is very popular and the bands mainly consists of girls. It is interesting to know about different cultures.
Anyway, Nico, I hope you enjoyed the time in Hamamatsu and am looking forward to meeting you in November again!
